Keith Polden holds a master’s Degree in psychology. He is a licensed psychologist with extensive experience in the fields of psychological assessment, Neuropsychology and Counselling.
Keith is also currently acting as associate in three different Neuropsychology practices in which he assists other prominent Neuropsychologists in assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans.
Keith is an associate member of the South African Neuropsychological Association (SACNA). He is in the process of applying for full SACNA membership. Currently Keith Polden specialize in Clinical Psychological Assessments (diagnosis, education, neuropsychology and medico-legal work) children, teenagers, adults and geriatrics. Moreover, he provides specialist therapy, counselling and coaching for a wider range of psychological difficulties. He follows an integrative approach in his therapeutic approach and understands that every client is unique.
Keith has counselled at the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG). He has furthermore, worked at a center for autistic children. Keith also facilitated substance abuse groups at a substance abuse rehabilitation center. He has been lecturing psychology for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honours level students for the past 7 years while running his own psychological assessment practice in which he assesses and write reports for Road Accident Fund cases, medical negligence cases, care and custody cases as well as forensic cases.

A Practice Manager is one of the most critical and highly valued members of the team in a practice. Rina will be your first point of contact at the practice and is able to provide you with information regarding the practice.
She spends most of her time managing the practice and the wonderful team, as well as making sure everything is running smoothly by using her exceptional organizational skills.
Rina is responsible for various domains in the practice such as reception, patient liaison, bookings, Medical Aid authorizations, accounts, billings, payroll, personnel and human resources, marketing and medical program management.
Rina joined the practice in 2015. She is a qualified remedial therapist/teacher whom completed her educational degree in 2010 from the University of Pretoria. She cares deeply about people’s wellness and therefore furthered her education and honed her skills in the field of psychology through the University of South Africa.

Tamwyn Smith is the face you see at the front desk from Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 04:00pm. She is responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including greeting of guests and offering them a beverage, answering phone calls, distributing mail, as well as scheduling of appointments.
Tamwyn is currently doing her BA degree in Psychology and would love to pursue her career in this field of study. Family is important to Tamwyn, she has an interest in professional dancing and she enjoys the outdoors.

Deon completed his BA degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1997, majoring in Psychology and English Literature. He obtain his HonsBA in Psychology from the University of Stellenbosch in 1998 and registered as a Psychometrist under Supervised Practice. After working at the Western Cape Provincial Government Department of Public Transport and Public Works for a decade, he was restored to the HPCSA’s register in 2010 and registered as a Psychometrist: Independent Practice in 2012.
Deon has consulted for various psychologists across the Western Cape, focusing on Career Guidance and Educational Assessments. He joined the team at Keith Polden and Associates in 2016, where his focus has shifted mainly to cognitive assessments.He is an accredited Myers-Briggs Type Indicator user.
Deon is also an active freelance musician, playing trumpet and double bass for various community ensembles and amateur theater productions on an ad hoc basis.

Melinda is a Registered Psychometrist in Independent Practice. She obtained her teaching diploma in 1998 (Boland College of Education) followed by a higher diploma in special needs education at the University of Stellenbosch (1999). During her time as a teacher she dealt with a broad spectrum of special needs, such as Aspergers, ADHD, ADD and hearing-impaired learners.
After 10 years of teaching (of which six were spent in the United Kingdom), Melinda furthered her studies in psychology. She completed her undergraduate and Honors degree (Cum Laude) at the University of South Africa and her Psychometric Practicum through the University of Johannesburg at an Educational Psychologist.
Melinda volunteered at LifeLine while she was studying, gaining valuable experience as a Lay Counselor and counseling clients from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. She also offered learning support at an educational psychologist’s practice during this time.
In addition, Melinda worked at an NGO where she assessed learners as part of a process for a diagnoses for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and developmental delays.

Tersius is a Registered Psychometrist in Independent Practice. He completed his BA Humanities at the University of Stellenbosch in 2010, majoring in Psychology and Sociology. He obtained his Honours in Psychology from the University of South Africa in 2012. While working full-time and studying towards his honours, Tersius volunteered as a trauma counsellor at the Community Intervention Centre in Milnerton. Upon graduating, he started working in the recruitment industry and worked for an affiliate company of Thomas International, an international cooperation in psychometric tools and worked as an Intern Psychometrist.
He obtained his BPsych Equivalent in Psychometry through Stellenbosch University, under the well-known Prof. Wim Myburgh. In 2015 he returned to his passion of cognitive assessments and working with children and joined the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research as a Psychometrist assessing children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and assisting in the diagnosis. He was later promoted to Head Psychometrist and Project Manager. In 2018, Tersius decided to work in his full capacity of Registered Psychometrist in his own practice and works with Psychologists in the wide variety of psychological assessments. He is currently studying towards his master’s in psychology (Dissertation) through Stellenbosch University, to be completed in 2019.
